China National Population Census 1982 - IPUMS

Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 1982 China de jure census collected data through face-to-face interviews on the subjects of household demographics, employment for individuals 15 and older, education for those six and older, and fertility for women 15 to 49 years old. The census day was July 1, 1982. A 1% sample of households from the census (10,039,191 individuals) is available through IPUMS International at the University of Minnesota.
