Summary

The 2006 National Survey of Quality of Life and Health was the second survey of its kind. This survey series was created to provide data that could guide the government's health objectives, plans, and policies in the 2000s.

The 2006 sample was designed to be representative at the national, subnational, and urban and rural levels. Information was gathered through household, individual (those 15 and older), and children questionnaires (those under age 15). The survey was performed in 6,168 households, 6,210 individuals over age 15 were interviewed, and information on 4,997 children under the age of 15 was gathered from 3,029 households. Those surveyed answered questions about health status, chronic diseases and pain, injuries, disability, risk behaviors, satisfaction with life, child development and health, and living conditions and environment.
