The Chile National Drug Study of 2012-2013 was the tenth conducted in the series of surveys. Its aim was to assess the geographic distribution of licit and illicit drug consumption among the population. It was conducted by the Microdata Center of the Department of Economics at the University of Chile, via face to face interview of household respondents ages 12-64. Topics covered in the survey questionnaire included drug use of various types, abuse of drugs, whether treatment was sought, as well as respondents' demographic and socioeconomic characteristics. The randomly selected, national sample of 16,727 respondents was provided by the National Institute of Statistics, and covered 108 urban communes across the 15 regions of the country where there were more than 30,000 inhabitants.
