Summary

The Chile 2008 National Drug Study in the General Population was conducted by the National Council of Narcotics Control. It was the eight survey in the series, with other studies having been conducted every two years since 1994. The study aimed to collect data on licit and illicit drug use among the population ages 12 to 65 in urban areas of Chile, and identify trends at both the national and regional levels. The sample was provided by the National Institute of Statistics, based on a random selection of areas and households. 95 Communes were included in the data collection, which represented all 15 regions of the country. In total, 17,113 interviews were completed.
