Cancer in Poland in 2002

The 2002 report from Poland's National Cancer Registry, KRN, presents data on counts and rates for total cancer deaths by year for the years 1963-2002, and data for select cancers by site for 1963, 1978, and 2002. Numbers and rates for incidence and mortality in 2002 are given by cancer site, sex, and 5-year age group as well as by site, sex, and voivodeship; MI ratios by sex and site for 2002 are included as well. Data was provided by various subnational cancer registries; registration is uneven among provinces, however, and overall underregistration is estimated at about 12% for 2002 due to physicians' strikes during 1997-1998 and an ensuing breakdown of statistics collection.
