Summary

This survey interviewed 1,273 individuals age 60 years and older living in private households. It was conducted in areas covering over half of Cambodia's population including Phnom Penh and Cambodia's five most populated provinces (Kampong Cham, Kandal, Prey Veng, Battambang, and Takeo). The intent of the survey was to gauge quality of life for elderly people. Special focus is on parents who have outlived their adult children lost to war, violence, or disease. The survey questionnaire is included in the report and asks about adult children's circumstances of death (verbal autopsy). Supplementary interviews were also conducted in July and October of 2005.
