Summary 

The Brazil National Survey of School Health 2009 surveyed ninth grade students in the 26 state capitals and the Federal District to investigate health risk factors such as sedentary lifestyle, diet, bullying, substance use, and sexual activity.

Out of a sample of 6,780 schools, a total of 62,910 students were successfully interviewed.

Topics covered in the 2009 survey included sociodemographic characteristics, physical activity, violence, traffic safety, sexual and reproductive health, body image, oral hygiene, and consumption of alcohol, tobacco, and drugs.
