Summary

The Bangladesh 2011-2012 DHS was the sixth DHS conducted in Bangladesh. The sample included 18,000 households; interviews were successfully completed for 17,141 households, 17,842 women ages 12-49, and 3,997 men ages 15-54. Fieldwork occurred in 2011, but revisits were conducted in January 2012 to collect blood samples. The survey included tests for anemia, blood glucose, and blood pressure; it also included a verbal autopsy component for the deaths of children in the last five years. The community portion of the survey included questions about availability and accessibility of health services.
