Part of phase 5 of the DHS series, the 2006 Azerbaijan Demographic and Health Survey is a household interview survey that is representative nationally, subnationally, and for urban and rural areas separately. The survey data covers topics such as family characteristics, sexual behavior, family planning, and birth history and also includs measurements for anthropomentry, pulse, and blood pressure. The final sample for the survey consisted of 7,619 households. The survey utilized three questionnaires:

  • A household questionnaire.
  • And individual women's questionnaire for women aged 15-49, including topics such as pregnancy history, contraception use, breastfeeding, domestic violence, and maternal care.
  • An indivudal men's questionnaire for men aged 15-49, including topics such as reproductive health, health literacy, and smoking and alcohol consumption.
