Information on long-term conditions was self-reported; the study focused primarily on asthma, cancer, diabetes, disabilities, and heart and circulatory conditions. Questions on a number of lifestyle behaviors covered smoking, alcohol consumption, exercise, obesity, and dietary habits. The sample size was 20,000 private households from all states and territories, across all age groups. Out of 15,792 households, 20,788 people were interviewed.
