Summary 

The National Survey on Prevalence of Psychoactive Substance Use (ENPresCoSP) 2011 collected information on the use of psychoactive substances by individuals ages 16-65 living in urban areas of Argentina with 500,000 or more inhabitants. Individuals were identified for participation in the survey using the Kish selection method. A household and individual questionnaire were used in the 2011 ENPresCoSP to successfully collect information from 38,921 households on the following topics: frequency and duration of alcohol use, use of tobacco and illicit drugs, housing conditions, general health status, educational attainment, and the use of health care services.
