Summary 

This Living Conditions and Household Budget Survey was conducted August 2005-March 2006, excepting the last two weeks of December and the first two weeks of January to exclude expenditure anomalies. The survey also includes a Participatory Poverty Assessment, which was the first such assessment conducted by Antigua and Barbuda. The survey was designed to provide data to assess the impact of socioeconomic policies; contribute to national accounts analysis; offer statistics on income distribution, demographic characteristics and expenditure; and reveal patterns of household consumption of goods and services.

The combined living conditions and household budgets survey interviewed 1,066 individuals, a had a response rate of 86%. Additionally, 950 household expenditure diaries were collected. The poverty assessment consisted of community workshops, focus groups, and individual interviews with household heads and community leaders conducted in 12 communities in Antigua and Barbuda.
