Summary 

The purpose of the survey was to provide accurate data on health behaviors and protective factors among students, including dietary behaviors, physical activity, drug, alcohol, and tobacco use, sexual behavior, and violence and unintentional injury.

A two-stage cluster sample design was used to create a representative sample of students ages 13-17 self-reporting their responses. The school response rate was 100% and the student response rate was 88%, with a total of 813 students participating in the survey.
