Summary 

The Algerian Maternal and Child Health Survey, which was conducted as part of the PAPCHILD project, was a nationally representative survey covering 6,449 households, 5,019 ever-married women, ages 15-49, and 5,081 children under 5. Anthropometric measurements were taken for 4,331 children. Topics included fertility preferences and contraceptive use, breastfeeding and other food given to children, childhood illness, immunization, and demographic characteristics.

The 1994 published report is not generally available. An article summarizing the results, also published in 1994, in Studies in Family Planning, is available online from JSTOR.
