Summary 

Part of the second round of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey, the 2000 MICS in Albania was designed to provide estimates for various indicators at the national level for both urban and rural areas separately. The survey sample included 5,182 households. The survey included three questionnaires:

  • A household questionnaire that included modules on education, child labor, water supply, and sanitation.
  • An individual questionniare for women ages 15-49 that had modules covering child mortality, tetanus toxoid, contraceptive use, and health literacy.
  • A questionnaire containing modules on birth registration, breastfeeding, health care use, respiratory illnesses, immunization, and anthropomery for children under age five.
