Summary 

The Afghanistan Health Survey conducted in 2012 collected data on maternal and child health, child survival, family planning methods, health expenditures, and health care use. Two questionnaires were used to collect data. The first was a household questionnaire focused on household rosters and on dwellings. The second was a women's questionnaire for all women in a household between the ages of 12 and 49. A total of 552 clusters were sampled successfully, leading to a total of 12,227 households. Furthermore, 14,551 women were successfully interviewed as well as 14,589 children.
