The Zambia Centre for Applied Health Research and Development is a non-government organization comprised of faculty and staff of the Center for Global Health and Development (CGHD) at Boston University as well as Zambian public health professionals. ZCAHRD is led by Godfrey Biemba, a member of the BU faculty and native to Zambia. The CGHD’s Zambia country program employs over 90 local Zambian staff responsible for designing, implementing, and managing over 10 research and service delivery projects. ZCAHRD’s areas of research include HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, malaria, health economics, mental health, monitoring and evaluation of public health programs, and maternal, newborn, and child health.
