Summary 

The Maputo Central Hospital Injury Surveillance 2000-2001 consists of trauma data from the hospital's emergency department. Over the course of 13 months, data were gathered on age and sex of trauma patients, and the nature, cause, severity, and outcome of each injury. The data collection forms were filled out by nurses. This data collection effort was part of a pilot project for an emergency department injury surveillance system in Mozambique.
