Summary 

The Somalia - Northeast Zone Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey 2011 was conducted as part of Round 4 of the MICS series. The 2011 Northeast Zone MICS was conducted at the same time as the Somaliland 2011 MICS. A variety of topics regarding child and women's health were included in the survey. The household survey also covered indoor residual spraying, and use and ownership of insecticide-treated bednets. A response rate of 97.6% was achieved. The survey is designed to be representative of the whole of the Northeast Zone, regions in the Northeast Zone, urban and rural sedentary areas, and rural nomadic populations. A total of 4,785 households were successfully interviewed. Questionnaires were completed for 5,492 women ages 15 - 49 years, and for 4,714 children under the age of 5 years.
