Summary 

The 2012 Kyrgyzstan DHS was conducted as part of Phase 6 of the DHS series. A total household sample size of 8,208 was used. A total of 8,286 women between the age of 15 and 49, years and 2,495 men between the age of 15-59 years were included in the sample. Interviews were completed with 8,208 women and 2,413 men, and blood pressure measurements were taken for both groups.

Major topics covered include fertility; contraceptive use; maternal and child health; nutrition; childhood mortality; domestic violence; and knowledge and behavior regarding tuberculosis, STDs and HIV/AIDS. A total of three questionnaires were used including the household, woman and man questionnaire. Eligible women and children were tested for anemia.
