It samples 10,873 households drawn from the National Sample Survey and Evaluation Programme (NASSEP) III. The WMS III includes a module which uses the Core Welfare Indicators Questionnaire (CWIQ), but does not include a fertility module as in previous surveys--fertility is captured in more detail in the 1998 Kenya Demographic and Health Survey.
