The sample for the 2001 survey was 25,991 urban dwellings located in areas with 5,000 or more inhabitants (approximately 94% of the urban population, and 84% of the national population). Data were collected on households and individuals within these dwellings through a series of questionnaires on the dwelling itself, household demographics, and inhabitants aged 0-4, 5-14, 15-24, and 25 and older. Questionnaires with distinct modules were used for each specific age group. All questionnaires collected information on employment, education, and health topics.
