Summary 

The WHO Study on Global Ageing and Adult Health is a longitudinal survey that focuses on the health of adults 50 years or older in six countries: China, Ghana, India, Mexico, Russia, and South Africa. The survey collected information on individual and household demographics, health status, chronic health conditions, risk factors, disabilities, and quality of life.

The first wave of this study in India surveyed 11,230 individuals from 19 states, covering 96% of the population. A portion of women aged 18-49 in the Indian sample were also chosen to participate in a nested study by the SAGE India team.
