The survey covers topics such as crude birth rates, death rates, nuptial rates, mortality by sex and age, fertility, infant mortality by sex, and both internal and external migration. Approximately 35,000 households were included in the sample size and were distributed among urban and rural areas. The area of study contained 14 departments of Honduras out of 18. The two departments excluded from the study were Gracias a Dios and Islas de la Bahía.
