Summary

Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 2005 de jure census in Mexico was an intermediate census conducted five years after the regular 2000 census. It was the second census of its kind. Data was collected through direct enumeration on subjects of housing, household demographics, education, migration, type of health insurance, and fertility for women 12 and older. The census day was October 17, 2005 and fieldwork was conducted October 4-29.

A 10% sample of dwellings from the census (10,284,550 individuals) is available through IPUMS International at the University of Minnesota. Group quarters are not available in the sample. Refer to the IPUMS website for guidelines on citing database versions.
