The National Survey of Family Growth (NSFG) is a survey based on a nationally representative sample of 12,571 men and women 15-44 years of age. The NFGS produced estimates concerning: factors affecting pregnancy (including sexual activity, contraceptive use, and infertility); the medical care associated with contraception, infertility, and childbirth; marriage, divorce, cohabitation, and adoption; adoption and care of non-biological children; involvement of fathers; attitudes about sex, childbearing, and marriage.

The 2002-2003 NSFG was the sixth cycle of the survey. Interviews were conducted in person by female interviewers using computer assisted personal interviewing (CAPI).
