Summary

The Social Environment and Biomarkers of Aging Study (SEBAS) of Taiwan continues the work of the Taiwan Longitudinal Study of Aging (TLSA) that began in 1989. SEBAS gathers information on the physical, psychological, and social well-being of Taiwanese adults ages 54 and above. Data are collected with physical exams, blood tests, urine tests, anthropometric measurements, health assessment measures, and face-to-face interviews. In the 2000 SEBAS a total of 1,497 individuals were interviewed, 1,023 of which also completed the health exam.
