Summary 

This survey, abbreviated as POF, covers the metropolitan areas of Belém, Fortaleza, Recife, Salvador, Belo Horizante, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, and the cities of Brasilia and Goiânia. Data on expenditures, income, housing, and household demographics were obtained through an expenditure diary, household expenditure and income questionnaires, individual expenditure and income questionnaires, and a short housing and household roster questionnaire. The microdata are broken down by geographic area.
