Summary

The purpose of this survey was to gather data on the coping strategies of the economically disadvantaged and vulnerable populations since the crisis of 2011. The study also sought to collect information on the Social Welfare Fund (SWF) cash transfer program and its impact on developmental markers.

The data were collected through in-person household and individual interviews. The questionnaire focused on housing conditions, coping strategies, income, expenditures, health care use, and safety. Anthropometric measurements were also taken from mothers and children. The households were interviewed at quarterly intervals during the duration of the survey.

The sample size for this survey was 6,397 households in rural and urban areas within all of the governates of the country. The sample in the Saa'da governate was not included in all rounds due to security concerns.
