Summary

The United States National Comorbidity Survey: Replication (NCS-R) 2001-2003 is a nationally representative household survey on the mental health of 9,282 noninstitutionalized persons, 18 years and older in the United States. Respondents were interviewed by trained personnel with modified versions of the Composite International Diagnostic Interview (CIDI) and the Structured Clinical Interview (SCID) for DSM-IV (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition). A subsample of 5692 respondents were asked additional questions on risk factors, and correlates associated with the mental health disorders. The NCS-R is released with the United States Collaborative Psychiatric Epidemiology Surveys (CPES) 2001-2003 and is part of the United States National Comorbidity Survey (NCS) series family.
