The Botswana Multiple Cluster Indicator Survey (MICS) 2000 is part of MICS2, an international survey initiative to monitor the situation of children and women. Part of MICS3, the 2006 Bosnia and Hervagovina Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey was a national health interview survey focusing on topics related to the situation of women and children. The survey data is representative of both Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as urban and rural areas separately. The sample consisted of 6,000 households in total, 3,000 with children under age five. The survey used three questionnaires:

  • A household questionnaire collected basic demographic information on all household members and housing conditions.
  • A individual women’s questionnaire was administered to each household for all women ages 15-49, covering topics such as maternal health, marital status, contraceptive use, domestic violence, sexual behavior, and health literacy.
  • A questionnaire that collected information on children under five covered areas such as birth registration, child development, breastfeeding, immunization, and child anthropometry.
