The Singapore Cancer Registry provides information on cancer patterns and trends in Singapore. It is a comprehensive population-based cancer registry that began in January 1968. In April 2001, it came under the auspices of the National Disease Registries Office (NDRO). Data are collected through notifications from medical professionals, pathology records, hospital records, and mortality data from the Registry of Births and Deaths (RBD) at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Notifications have been mandatory since 2009. The Cancer Registry began using the International Classification of Diseases for Oncology, 2nd Edition (ICD-O-2) to code tumor site and morphology from 1993-2002; from 2003, they have classified the data using ICD-O-3.
