Summary 

The Taiwan National Health Interview Survey 2001 covered three geographic regions: urban villages and towns, mountains region, and outlying islands. The sample sizes were 26,685 participants in the urban region, 2,797 participants in the mountains region, and 1,954 participants in the islands region. The NHIS 2001 included five questionnaires: one for the household, one for participants over the age of 12, one for 12 year olds, a self-administered questionnaire for 12 to 19 year olds, and a self-administered questionnaire for participants ages 20 to 65. Questionnaires collected sociodemographic information, health status (including SF-36), health care use, and health behaviors including drug use and sexual behaviors.
