The purpose of this study was to gather data on the health status, and health care use of people throughout Pakistan in order to inform policy. The study also aimed to research specific groups such as children under five years old, married women in reproductive age brackets, and persons over 60 years old.

This study collected information through a household interview and a health exam. The household took place in-person, in the home. The questionnaire asked about sociodemographics, the condition of the home, behaviors, personal health, and health care use. The health exam was performed in a mobile center and included an interview and a physical exam. The questionnaire asked about a range of personal health topics including tobacco use. The exam included height, weight, vision, breathing, and blood pressure. Blood, urine, and stool samples were also collected.

The sample size for this survey was 2,395 households in urban and rural areas.
