This survey was the third national drug use prevalence survey of secondary students. The first occurred in 2005. The purpose of this survey was to determine the scope of drug use in Haitian high school students in order to develop indicators.

The data were collected through self-completed questionnaires given in the classroom to students attending Haitian high schools. The sample size for this survey was 3,448 students.

This survey was part of a multinational survey effort in which all countries included used a standard methodology and questionnaires. The surveys were developed and administered by the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission CICAD), a department within the Organization of American States (OSA).
