Summary

The questionnaires for the 2013 survey were distributed to pre-screened households. Respondents were given the choice of a paid envelope to return it or having it picked up by an interviewer. Roy Morgan Research, responsible for conducting the survey, received 23,855 completed questionnaires. The respondents were 12 years and older, including individuals who would be 12 at their next birthday. Parental permission was obtained for respondents between the ages of 12 and 15 years. Those aged 12 to 13 years received a shorter questionnaire than those aged 14 and older.

The 2013 questionnaire was based on the 2010 version, with some revisions. The main areas of the questionnaire were demographics, perceptions of drug use, health, drug use, and tobacco consumption, alcohol consumption, lifestyle, and feelings about drug related policies.
