This report draws from the records of the Sample Registration System (SRS) to provide life expectancy data according to sex, age group (up to 85+), and urban and rural areas for the country and major states. The report analysis focuses on 2006-2010, but includes date ranges 2003-2007, 2004-2008, 2005-2009, and 2006-2010. Reconstructed abridged life tables for the years 1995-2006 are also included, extending the age groups to 85+ and correcting inconsistent child mortality and life expectancy data previously used in these life tables.
