Summary
The Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) is a household survey that collects data on non-institutionalized men and women aged 15 years and older using a standardized methodology for constructing the sample frame, selecting households, and processing data.
The GATS is designed to produce national and sub-national estimates on tobacco use. The GATS provides information on tobacco use, cessation, second-hand smoke, and knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions towards tobacco. The survey also covers basic sociodemographic characteristics.
The 2022 Costa Rica Global Adult Tobacco Survey was comprised of 8,011 individual interviews.
