Summary

This report, based on the records of the Sample Registration System (SRS), provides information on population composition and estimates of fertility and mortality indicators based on recorded births and deaths across the entire country. In total, India SRS 2014 was comprised of 8,853 sample units (4,961 rural and 3,892 urban), covering a total population of 7,506 (5,552 rural and 1,954 urban).
