Saudi Arabia Child Health Survey 1987-1988
General Info
The Child Health Survey was conducted as part of the Gulf Child Health Survey Program. The first phase of the survey covered all households in the sample and included a Basic Household Survey, Maternal Care Survey, and a Child Health Survey. A second, multi-round survey was administered to three groups: women reported as pregnant in the first phase, children born in the 12-month period prior to the first phase, and children born during the follow up survey to pregnant women covered in the second phase.
A sample of 9,061 nationally representative households was chosen, excluding the nomadic population. Of the chosen sample, 8,044 households were surveyed for the main survey, including 8,563 women who were identified as eligible for the individual maternal care interview in the second phase; 8,482 of those women were surveyed. A total of 13,332 children under six years of age were enumerated in the household survey. The report and tabulations may be available through the library system.
