This report has tabulations by age, sex, rural and urban representativeness, and state/union territory. Topics include live births, birth rates, and infant mortality, distribution of registered births and registered deaths, and total births and deaths for major Indian states (those with populations above 10 million as per the 2011 Census). Part I provides a review of the Civil Registration System and contains a summary analysis of data on registered births, deaths, infant deaths and sex ratio at birth at the state level. Part II of the report provides state and district-wise data on registered births, deaths, infant deaths, and still births with rural-urban and sex-wise break-downs.
