Philippines - Cebu Longitudinal Health and Nutrition Baseline Survey 1983-1986
General Info
The Cebu Longitudinal Health and Nutrition Survey follows a cohort of Filipino women who gave birth between May 1, 1983 and April 30, 1984. Originally a study of infant feeding patterns, the study was expanded to examine infant anthropometry, infant and maternal health status, family planning, health behaviors, and socioeconomic factors.
The baseline survey tracked 3,080 single live births from 3,327 women in metropolitan Cebu; these women and households were interviewed multiple times over the following two years. Individual, household, and community questionnaires were used during the baseline survey to collect detailed information about the births, community health and family planning facilities, diet and nutrition, morbidity, and water quality.
Health facility surveys were conducted, but the data were not included in the published dataset.
Follow-up surveys have continued to track mothers and children throughout their reproductive lifetimes.
