The Iran Malaria Indicator Survey targeted three provinces in August 2009: Kermān, Sīstān va Balūchestān, and Hormozgān. A total of 5,456 households were surveyed.

The questionnaire included questions about insectice-treated bednet ownership and knowledge about different aspect of malaria such as clinical symptoms and transmission as well as practices related to prevention and treatment of the disease.
