Liberia Demographic and Health Survey 1999-2000
General Info
The Liberia Demographic and Health Survey (LDHS) 1999-2000 was undertaken as a national effort outside the standard international DHS program. The purpose of this survey was to gather data to assist in national development and planning. The major topics of the survey were socioeconomic characteristics, health status, housing, children's living situations, adolescent conduct, water supply and sanitation, and reproductive behavior.
The data were collected through in-person interviews with households in rural and urban areas throughout the country. The three interviewing instruments included a household questionnaire, an individual questionnaire, and a questionnaire for women aged 13-49 years. The sample size for this survey was 20,979 individuals.
Reports for this survey may be available through library systems.
