Nauru Population and Housing Census 2002
General Info
The Nauru 2002 Census was conducted over the span of 2 days in September of 2002. The aim of the census was to provide detailed information regarding housing conditions and other socioeconomic indicators of the population. The questionnaire was based on the Pacific Island Model Population and Housing Census Form as well as the 1992 census form. It included both a household and individual module. The de facto population at the time of the census was 10,064, including 5,136 males and 4,929 females. In total, 9,872 permanent residents and 193 short-term visitors, tourists and temporary contract workers (non-residents) were present. The census reports include registered birth and death data from the vital registration system.
