Summary
The Gridded Population of the World (GPW) collection delineates the international distribution of human population on a gridded base. The ten datasets include population numbers, population density, future estimates, and sub-national administrative boundary maps at country, continental, and global levels. Population data estimates are provided for 1990, 1995, and 2000, with projections for 2005, 2010, and 2015. Population counts are population per cell and the raster data are available in resolutions of up to 2.5 arc minutes, leading to a population grid of 8,640 x 3,432 pixels.
