Summary
The objective of the MKAPH 1996 was to provide indicators for monitoring programs of the Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP). The survey covered topics on contraceptive prevalence, sexually transmitted diseases, immunizations, malaria prophylaxis for pregnant women, vitamin A supplements, and childhood illnesses.
A total of four questionnaires were used: one for households, one for men between tha age of 15 and 54 years, one for women between the age of 15 and 49 years, and one for children under the age of 5 years completed by caretakers.
A total of 2,683 women and 2,658 men were enumerated and a total of 2,418 questionnaires were completed by caretakers.
