Summary

The 2002 Jamaica Survey of Living Conditions (JSLC) collected data to provide information for policy development for the Jamaican government. A total of 6,976 individuals from non-institutional dwellings participated. The sample was a randomized sub-set of approximately one-third of the previous Labour Force survey (LFS) in an effort to data linkage between survey series. The questionnaire covered topics such as demographics, education, housing, social welfare, health, expenditures and included additional questions for women between 13-49. The 2002 effort included an additional module that covered topics such as the environment, crime, and the social safety net.
