Guinea Demographic and Health Survey 2012
General Info
The 2012 Guinea DHS is a comprehensive, nationally representative household survey. It covers population, education, health, nutrition, family planning and household characteristics. A sample of 7,200 households was selected nationwide. Two-stage stratified sampling was used.
All women ages 15-49 within the household were eligible for enumeration. In a subsample of households, men ages 15-59 were enumerated. Within this subsample, all men and women were eligible for HIV testing. In addition, all men, women and children ages 6-59 months were eligible for anemia testing; all children under age five were eligible for malaria testing; and anthropometry was done for children under age five and women.
Three questionnaires were used including one for households, women, and men. The questionnaires were based off of materials developed by the Measure DHS program, and certain modules were added from the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS).
