This report presents data describing the incidence of road accidents in India during 2009. Numbers of accidents, injuries, and deaths due to road accidents are given at the state and national level. Accident data are also aggregated by types of vehicle involved, cause of accident, age of those injured, and time of accident occurrence. Several tables provide road accident data from 1970 to 2000 by 10-year intervals and yearly from 2001-2009.
